Upload a Statement of Work (SOW) to request a purchase
Use Now Assist’s AI-powered chat interface to upload a Statement of Work (SOW) and submit your purchase request through Employee Center.
Before you begin
Role required: sn_spend_gen_ai.now_assist_requester
Procedure
Navigate to All > Self-Service > Employee Center in your ServiceNow instance.
Select the Now Assist chat icon (
Now Assist icon.\) in the Employee Center interface.
Provide details about the product that you want to purchase in the chat interface.
When prompted, enter Yes to proceed with uploading a Statement of Work (SOW).
Now Assist chat checking for SOW.
Select Click here to upload a file and select a Statement of Work (SOW) from your device.
Note: Verify that the file is in PDF, PNG, or JPEG format and doesn’t exceed 1 MB.
Select a file to upload a SOW.
Now Assist analyzes your document using the Procurement request path recommendation.
- Enter additional details requested, such as the reason for purchase, expected delivery date, and service period.
Provide additional details.
- Select Show to view the request.

The additional details are displayed in the engagement layer.
Select Make changes to edit the request.
Select the document link.
The Statement of Work (SOW) document opens in a new tab (DocIntel).
Select Edit Answers to make changes.
Select Submit > Confirm and submit to save your changes.
Return to the Employee Center and select Yes to proceed.
Your purchase requisition has been created and submitted for approval.
Select Submit to submit the request.
Result
Your purchase requisition has been created and submitted for approval.
