Getting started with Service Operations Workspace for ITSM

Quickly understand how you can implement the essential setup to get started with Service Operations Workspace.

Install Service Operations Workspace for ITSM applications

Starting with the Australia release, Service Operations Workspace for ITSM provides two application tiers:

  • SOW ITSM Applications: Incident Management, Request Management
  • SOW ITSM Advanced Applications: Change Management, Problem Management, Major Incident Management, On-Call Scheduling, Walk-up Experience

Upgrading an existing instance to Australia:

  • Family release upgrade: Your SOW applications upgrade automatically to the default version for the Australia release. No additional steps are required.
  • Store upgrade to a specific version: Install both SOW ITSM Applications and SOW ITSM Advanced Applications separately from the ServiceNow® Store.

If you're setting up a new instance starting Australia, the SOW ITSM Applications are installed by default. To access SOW ITSM Advanced Applications, install them separately from the ServiceNow® Store.

Note: Check your entitlements to determine whether you have access to SOW ITSM Advanced Applications.

Service Operations Workspace Admin Center

It provides effortless and quick access to manage most configurations in Service Operations Workspace for IT Service Management (ITSM). It also provides centralized control of the instance to admins.
