Use Playbook in Next Experience for Demand Management

Use the default playbook or configure a custom one to capture required information for a demand and support governance processes.

Before you begin

Role required: it_demand_user or it_demand_manager.

About this task

A playbook defines the standard stages of a demand (for example, Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring, and Closure) and includes activities or action items to complete at each stage.

Note: This task describes how to use a playbook to manage demand information in a guided, stage-based workflow. To find out how to update demand information on the Details page of the demand record, see Update demand details.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to Workspaces > Portfolio Planning Workspace.

  2. Select the Demands icon

  1. Open a demand record.

  2. Select the Playbook tab.

  3. Select a stage to view its activities.

    Each activity displays its status (In Progress, Pending, or Complete) and the fields or lists to update.

  4. Address the activities within each stage.

    • To mark the activity as done and move to the next activity, select Mark Complete.
    • To save your progress without completing the activity, select Save.
    • To bypass the activity and move to the next one, select Skip.
    • To revisit or edit completed or skipped activities. you have to select Restart. These states set the activity to read-only. Note:

    Some stages advance the state when all activities in the stage are complete and don't require manual action.
