Use the GetFiles component
Get the names of the files in the directory and subdirectories by using the GetFiles component in RPA Desktop Design Studio.

About this task
You can configure the properties for the GetFiles component. For more information about these properties, see Properties of the Directory components.
Procedure
In the Toolbox pane, navigate to Utilities > Directory.
Drag the GetFiles component to the Design surface.
To configure the input field, see Configure port properties.
Connect the data and control ports of the GetFiles component to the corresponding ports of the other components as described in the following table.

| Data In \(directoryPath\) | Takes the path to the directory from a previously executed component. | Yes |
| Data In \(searchSubDirectories\) | Takes the Boolean value to indicate whether the method searches the subdirectories from a previously executed component. | No |
| Data In \(fileExtension\) | Takes the extension of a file from a previously executed component. You can use this field if you want to search for files with a particular extension. | No |
| Data Out \(Return\) | Returns the names of all the subdirectories and files in the specified directory and passes to the next component. | Yes.To preview the data, right-click the Return field and click Preview Data. |
