Start an exercise event
Create an exercise event to test your business continuity and recovery plans on a planned date and monitor the completion of the event tasks.
Before you begin
Role required: sn_bcm.planner, sn_bcm.program_manager
Procedure
Navigate to Business Continuity > Business Continuity Workspace.
Click the Start an Exercise link in the Actions section of the workspace.
On the modal form, fill in the fields.
| Field | Description |

| Short description | Name of the exercise event. |
| Assigned to | Auto-populates the name of the user who created the exercise event. As a BCM program manager you can update the field. |
| Exercise Method | Method to implement the event. The methods can be Simulation, Tabletop, or Walkthrough.- Simulation: An environment that simulates an actual disaster with necessary equipment, supplies, and personnel. - Tabletop: An exercise done in a room with a team analyzing over the plan, looking for gaps. - Walkthrough: Each member of the team walks through a component of the plan in detail to identify weaknesses. - Functional: Option to include ad hoc tasks that are not part of a plan. |

| Description | Detailed description of the exercise event. |
Click Submit.
The exercise event is created and is in Pending state.
