Request Outside Counsel engagement

As a legal fulfiller, create an outside counsel engagement request for a matter.

Before you begin

Ensure you have configured Legal Matter Management to engage with outside counsel. For more information, see Configure Legal Matter Management to engage with outside counsel using Legal Tracker.

Role required: sn_lg_matter.matter_fulfiller, sn_lg_ops.legal_fulfiller

Procedure

  1. Open a legal matter.

Using Legal Counsel Center homepage
  1. Navigate to All > Legal Request > Legal Counsel Center
  2. Select the View All option on the Matters widget.
  3. From the list, open a legal matter.
  4. Select the Outside Counsels tab.
Using Legal Counsel Center lists
  1. Navigate to All > Legal Request > Legal Counsel Center
  2. Select the list icon (

  3. In the Lists tab, navigate to Matters > All.
  4. From the list, open a legal matter.
  5. Select the Outside Counsels tab.
Using platform view
  1. Navigate to All > Legal Matter > Matter > All
  2. From the list, open a legal matter.
  3. Navigate to Outside Counsels tab related list.
  1. Select Add outside counsel for Legal Tracker from the down arrow

  1. On the form, fill in the fields.

    For more information on the form fields, see Legal Tracker Outside Counsel Engagement request form.

  2. If do not have the complete the Legal Tracker details and want it to be filled later, select the Create a task for entering Legal Tracker field details check box.

    A task will be created to fill in the Legal Tracker details once the outside counsel request is approved. You need to fill in the details and submit the outside counsel engagement request for integration with Legal Tracker. For more information, see Assign task created for filling Legal Tracker details and Enter Legal Tracker details and submit for integration.

  3. Select Save.
