Submit a Legal Hold Notification matter

Create a Legal Hold Notification matter to initiate the process of preserving the data related to the legal hold when the legal hold is issued.

Before you begin

If the Legal Counsel Center application hasn’t been previously installed, you must install it to start using Legal Hold Notification. For more information, see Install Legal Counsel Center Workspace.

Role required: sn_lg_hold.legal_hold_fulfiller or sn_lg_ops.legal_fulfiller

Procedure

  1. Access the Legal Hold Notification matter intake form through either the Employee Center or the Legal Counsel Center.

Using Employee Center (sn_lg_hold.legal_hold_fulfiller)
  1. Navigate to All > Employee Center.
  2. Navigate to Help center > Legal services.
  3. In the Ethics and compliance category, select Legal Hold Notification.
Using Legal Counsel Center (sn_lg_ops.legal_fulfiller)
  1. Navigate to List > Matters > All
  2. Select New.
  3. In the Request type pop-up window, select Legal Hold Notification.
  4. Select Submit.

  1. On the Legal Hold Notification matter intake form, fill in the fields.

    Note: For a description of the field values, see Legal hold notification matter intake form.

  2. Select Submit.

Result

A Legal Hold Matter is created.

In the Legal Hold Matter page, under the Tasks tab, a task is created with the initial state set to Draft.

In the Custodians tab, the custodian details are added.
