Manage map objects and data

Manage the map objects and map data from the Map Studio interface. Customize your maps as often as required.

In the Map Studio, manage and edit map objects and map data. Upload CAD and raster image file sources, configure your architectural diagrams and import back to the Map studio to have great looking maps. Create views, places, direction graphs, and migrate data to another instance using the snapshots capability.

  1. Create a campus with buildings and floors
    Create your first Indoor Mapping campus and add a few buildings and floors to it using the Indoor Mapping Map Studio. Import your CAD and raster image source files to complete your campus configuration.
  2. Working with boundary editor
    Boundary editor helps to define the mapped area of a campus on the global map by adjusting the campus boundaries to visualize the location of a campus and building on a map. Boundaries are used to differentiate between outdoor maps and indoor mapped areas.
  3. Import outdoor elements
    Import outdoor elements that you want to display on the indoor map. This can be a graphic element such as a logo or a an outdoor parking lot with parking spaces that needs to be created as Places.
  4. Manage places
    Edit campus and buildings to add places, icons, and place types that you want to display on the indoor maps.
  5. Manage Directions
    Directions are used to compute routes from point A to point B on the map. Map administrators can manually draw lines on the floor map areas where people are allowed to walk within a building. This cannot be automated and has to be done manually.
  6. Edit with view editor
    Edit and customize indoor maps with the Map Studio view editor. Enabling the default view in Indoor Mapping is a mandatory step so that maps can render in Workplace Service Delivery.
  7. Map preview
    Use theMap Preview to display maps and test directions that you have created in the Indoor Mapping Map Studio. Testing directions will ensure that directions graphs in wayfinding works as expected for employees and visitors.
  8. Print a map
    Print a map by configuring relevant options and applying filters.
  9. Create Snapshots to migrate Indoor Mapping data
    Create snapshots for taking point-in-time backups of your Indoor Mapping map data and objects and migrate the snapshots to Workplace Service Delivery instances.
  10. Keyboard shortcuts
    The keyboard shortcuts provided with Indoor Mapping allow Map Studio administrators to quickly perform common administrative tasks by using keys in the Map Studio.
  11. Synchronize Indoor Mapping with Workplace Service Delivery
    Synchronize Indoor Mapping locations and map data objects with Workplace Service Delivery campus, buildings, floors, and spaces.
  12. Synchronize Indoor Mapping with CMN Locations
    Create a new CMN Location or synchronize an existing CMN Location with a corresponding Indoor Mapping Place type.
  13. Using enhanced synchronization
    Synchronize your workplace locations with your Indoor Mapping data by using the enhanced sync feature.
