Modify the Featured News widget

The Featured News widget displays featured articles on company news and announcements.

Before you begin

Role required: sp_admin or admin

Procedure

  1. Navigate to All > Self-Service > Employee Center.

    The Employee Center home page is displayed.

  2. Select News Center.

  3. Press and hold the control key, right-select the Featured News widget, and then select Instance Options.

  4. Configure the widget:

Widget optionDescription
Load AsyncLoads widget data in the background. If you select this option, the Employee Center homepage will appear even if the News widget hasn't finished loading.
HeaderText that appears at the top of the News Center page.
Show thumbnailOption that displays a thumbnail image for each news article
Default thumbnail imageSelect an image to display when a news article doesn't have a thumbnail image.
Show empty stateOption that allows the widget to appear if there are no news articles published to the Featured News widget.
Empty state messageThe message to display when there are no news articles published to the Featured News widget.
LayoutHow you want the news articles to appear in the widget. The choices are:- Card: Displays a maximum of three articles where the thumbnail appears above the heading and subheading.

- Tile: Displays up to five news articles with one large tile and four small tiles where each tile has the news article thumbnail as the background.

Fixed layout
Option to turn off pagination and display only the first page of news articles.
Performance IndicatorEnables viewing of nested call insights for total load time in parent and child news feed widgets, allowing users to add and review detailed nested calls for featured news and event widgets.
  1. Select Save.
