Configuring ServiceNow Add-in for Microsoft 365

Configure the ServiceNow Add-in for Microsoft 365 and map the email fields to catalog items or forms.

Configuration overview

Note:

  • The add-in can be used in Microsoft 365 applications, but field mapping is only available for emails and can only be used in Microsoft Outlook.
  • ServiceNow Add-in for Microsoft 365 is only supported for Microsoft Outlook 2019 or later versions.
  • Actions that require the admin role, can also be performed with the sn_outlook_addin.outlook_addin_setup role.
  • When using the ServiceNow Add-in for Microsoft Word, SharePoint or PowerPoint, you must configure the Content Security Policy header in Response headers for your custom SharePoint, PowerPoint or Word URLs in your ServiceNow instance to prevent a blank Add-in login page. Navigate to All> System Definition> Response Headers.

  • Install the ServiceNow Add-in for Microsoft 365
    You can install the ServiceNow Add-in for Microsoft 365 application (sn_outlook_addin) if you have the admin role. The application includes demo data and installs related ServiceNow® Store applications and plugins if they are not already installed.

  • Create a manifest file
    Create and download a manifest file with the configurations that you want to enable for the ServiceNow Add-in for Microsoft 365.
  • Configure single sign-on for ServiceNow Add-in for Microsoft 365
    Configure single sign-on (SSO) for your add-in so users don't have to sign-in to Employee Center.
  • Upload a manifest to the Microsoft admin center
    Upload the manifest file to the Microsoft admin center to enable the add-in for all employees.
  • Map email fields to a catalog item
